Delete your Chukta account
You can delete your account and its data at any time. It takes a minute in the app, and you can also ask us by email. Chukta is made by Waseem Ahmad (OrchestrateIT on Google Play).
In the phone app
Open Settings → Delete account and data, type DELETE and tap Delete my account.
In the web app
Sign in at app.staging.chukta.app, open Settings → Delete account and data, type DELETE and confirm.
Without the app
Email privacy@chukta.app from the address you sign in with (for Google sign-in, that Google address), with the subject “Delete my account”. We reply to confirm it is you, delete the account within 30 days, and email you when it is done.
What is deleted
Your profile — name, email, phone and photo — your devices, your notification settings, and every hisaab only you use, with everything in it.
What stays
Hisaab you share with other people keep the expenses, payments, fund contributions, comments, receipts and hisaab photos you added, under the name “Former member”, so the other members' balances still add up. Your name, phone and email are removed from them. A name or number another member typed in for you stays in their hisaab. A report you made stays until 12 months after it is resolved, without your name. A copy on another phone or browser you were signed in on stays on that device until you clear the app's data there.
Backups
Deleted data can remain in our hosting provider's encrypted backups until they expire, within 30 days.
Before you go
Export your data first: Settings → Export gives you a CSV, or a printable statement you can save as a PDF.
