What’s a “no app” member?

A no-app member is a name, and optionally a phone number, that the group tracks. They take a share of every expense they were part of and carry a real balance, exactly like anyone else.

You will always know who they are: a dashed avatar ring and a NO APP tag, everywhere they appear.

Anyone can record their payments

Because they cannot open the app to confirm anything, anyone in the group can record a payment for them. When they hand over cash, whoever took it records it.

Joining later

If phone sign-in becomes available and they join with the same phone number the group tracked them by, they can claim that membership and its whole history — every expense, share and payment — and control it from then on. Nothing has to be re-entered.
