Claiming your history after joining

If a group has been tracking your share while you had no app, that history is already yours — it just needs connecting to an account.

1. Open the invite link the group sent you.
2. Sign in with the same phone number the group has against your name. The invite page shows you a masked version of it, so you can check before you start.
3. That membership becomes yours: every expense you were split into, every payment somebody recorded on your behalf, and your balance with each member.

From that point you control it, and nobody else can record payments for you.

If you sign in with a different number you will simply join as a new member, and the tracked one stays where it is. Ask an admin to merge them.
